Geekzania is..
Stuart has been a full time professional photographer since 2009. In that time he has covered a wide range of photographic genres from fine art landscapes to fashion and editorial, from portraits to commercial. He has exhibited in London and locally and been published around the World in a wide variety of publications from Elle to County Life, from Vintage Life to the Burlesque Bible and has a featured photographer profile on Vogue Italia.
He is though a huge Geek (and proud of it) - as well as a photographer he is a fully qualified Aeronautical Engineer, has been a full member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and was a National level Expert in the arena of air vehicle flight control. Before taking up photography full time he spent 20 years working in Military flight test, aircraft design and research, providing advice to both the UK and allied Governments and representing the UK on a number of International research programmes. He is an expert coder in numerous languages all the way from Coral66 through to Ruby and has produced software for flight simulators as well as aircraft flight control systems. He loves everything comic book, Sci-Fi and fantasy and has been playing (and writing) computer games since the days of the ZX81.
Geekzania, and this site, will include a bit of everything that he loves - it will feature his cosplay photography and maybe a bit of pin up and fantasy - occasionally we'll sell some stuff, from t-shirts to vintage gaming magazines, there will be a blog covering everything from cons to game coding and just about anything else that takes our fancy.
Experience
Stuart has worked as a full time Nursery photographer, he has been the photographer for Theatre MK amongst other longer term clients. He has worked for a variety of commercial clients from Kwik Fit to Cambridgeshire Music. Alongside his cosplay photography with Geekzania, He runs Pinupzania, specialising in Pin-up and vintage/retro photgraphy. He managed and ran the Harpur Studio from 2017 to 2022. He has photographed hundreds of happy clients from families, to pets, from weddings to parties, events to concerts and worked extensively in London and beyond. For the last few years he has continued to operate on a freelance basis whilst also running the Harpur Studio on Bedford High Street. He has shot extensively for the Satin Dollz/Dollface Entertainment for a number of years and you would have seen his work with the Dollz adorning the Hippodrome if you visited Leicester Square before Christmas. Over the years he has also worked widely with a variety of Burlesque promoters and acts and vintage/retro performers contributing to Vintage Life and other vintage/retro lifestyle magazines on a regular basis. He has shot headshots and agency images for a range of performers, dancers singers, actors and models. You can find his photography website here
